Maintenance Resource Management (MRM)

Maintenance Resource Management is a non-technical workshop designed to assist the technician in developing skills not currently required by the FAA or normally taught in Airframe and Powerplant certification courses.  It is a look into the human side of maintenance and what we can do to help prevent human error in aircraft maintenance operations.

The overall objective of MRM is to “decrease accidents and incidents while increasing professionalism and safety.”  To achieve this goal, we must focus on both the individual and the team contributions, as well as necessary individual and team improvements.  Attention must also be given to resources in the industry that can help us reach our goal.

To reach our objective, we will cover several topics crucial to recognition and understanding of human factors issues.  Each topic will contain several sub-topics designed to help us reach our overall objective.  The major focus of the MRM course will be on the topics listed below.
